Domaine des Lauriers has been owned by the Germain family for 3 generations. They have been members of the Cave de Genouilly, the smallest Co-operative in Burgundy, since it started in 1953.
Emmanuel and Christian Germain took over from their father in 1990 and have concentrated on the vineyards, both in management and increasing the size of Domaine. They have a large proportion of old vines, between 30 – 40 years old, and when they have replanted they have selected good quality clones and rootstocks. For the last 4 years they have been working with ENM (Enherbement Naturel Maîtrisé) that is allowing grass to grow between rows and no use of weedkiller. They also use green harvesting to keep just 6 or 7 bunches per vine, to allow them to reach optimal ripeness.
