50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Attractive purple colour, quite thick. This wine develops a bouquet of fresh fruit mixed with vanilla notes. The mid palate is generous, round and smooth developing pleasant merello cherry hints. Well balanced wine with a long finish. 13% ABV.
This very old property belonged for a long time to the De Geres from Loupes, Lords of Camarsac. During the 18th century, it was owned by the Demoiselles d'Averous, who built the grotto of Artigues there, a place of interest in Pauillac. It was taken over in 1958 by Gabriel Meffre, owner of Chateau du Glana in Saint-Genes-de Beychevelle, and is now managed by his son, Claude, who has come back to viticulture after a career in journalism.
