Our Team

Southern Wines was formed in January 2010, with the primary role of marketing and promoting Vondeling Wines from South Africa.  The business has grown and developed every year since and taken on various new agencies as well as selling other wines that we have particularly enjoyed ourselves.

We will only offer wines we like ourselves.  Our guarantee to you is that if you do not agree with us and don’t like a particular wine, we will refund in full any wines returned to us. 

Rupert St Aubyn

Rupert started selling wine in Zimbabwe in 1994 and has continued ever since.  After leaving Zimbabwe in 2002, sales alternated between Gloucestershire, Southern Spain and Gibralter, before St Aubyn Wines Ltd was founded in Andover in 2005.   Southern Wines Ltd was then formed from the original company,  in January 2010, with Simon Leschallas, to cope with an ever expanding portfolio of wines, spirits and beers. 

Mark Leveson-Gower

Mark Leveson-Gower joined the wine trade in 1981. During that time he has worked for Veuve Clicquot, Paragon Vintners, John E Fells, Laytons and until 2014 Maisons, Marques et Domaines Ltd who are owned by Louis Roederer. He joined Southern Wines in February 2014 and brings a wealth of experience to the business.
