Other Details

Cortese is the grape behind the Gavi wine, and it is distinguished by its crisp, floral, peachy, aromatic qualities. This light and refreshing white is known as 'The Chablis of Italy' due to its mouth-zapping acidity. It has made a success of its freshness and simplicity.

This famous Italian wine is called after the town of Gavi in the far south-east corner of Piedmont. All Gavi must be 100% Cortese, a grape which is indigenous to the north of Italy. Only those vineyards planted within the borders of the town of Gavi can carry the prestigious name "Gavi di Gavi".

This wonderful Gavi was born in the heart of the Gavi area, where the hills become sweeter and the ground turns red. This wine is made from hand-picked Cortese grapes grown in a twenty-five-year vineyard at 280 metres above sea level on limestone-rich clay soil. The growing system is the Guyot which helps the Cortese grapes ripen fully and evenly.
